Dubai Green Economy Partnership

The Green Deal Launch Event has proven to be a success with the organisers and audience alike. The initiative was launched by the Department of of Economic Development (DED), the Dubai Green Economy Partnership (Dubai GEP), and Dubai Investment Development Agency (Dubai FDI) with the backing of Emirates Islamic Bank. The event is part of a larger drive to dramatically reduce energy use across the Emirate - which has one of the largest carbon footprints in the world.

Under the deal, Emirates Islamic Bank will provide financial incentives for customers to buy energy products via a newly created website (to enter website, click here). All the "green" products listed for sale are pre-verified by government entities and aim to cut domestic electricity and water use.

The Green Deal falls into the governments target to reduce energy use across the Emirate by 30% and generate at least 25% of its power from renewable sources. For more information, click here.
